With the year at it's close, we thought it'd be good to put together a bit of a recap of how 2022 has gone for Prestanda NOMAD in what was our 5th year of racing together.

The year in more detail

The year started with a huge change, a move to the Prestanda NOMAD name and a lovely set of new liveries initially designed by Paul Valasco and now expertly maintained by Vincenzo Piccolo. The addition of the support from Prestanda also meant that we got this shiny website, servers for data crunching and hosting various timing setups, and a great bot in our Discord. Overall the rebrand has been an enormous positive for the team, with a notable increase in the feeling of organisation behind the scenes.

The rebranded team got to work early on by securing a bunch of trophies in the Race Anywhere Porsche Cup, including 1st and 2nd in both the individual AM and team championships. Those results were achieved in no small part due to a brand new engineering team that gave the team a measurable lift in performance.

As a team we've had less success than we'd like in the iRacing special events, for a multitude of reasons, and that's something we'll definitely be looking to improve as we go into 2023.

Bookending the season with good results, though, was a phenomenal weekend earlier this month which lifts the team in the IVRA Endurance standings and right to the top of the GT Sprint standings.

We've welcomed a number of new drivers to the team this year, with strong performances coming in from Alex Mitchell, Berke Köse, Casey Waters, Oliver Bunn, Tim Penny and Tom Stanley. There may even be a few more before the year is done, so keep your eyes peeled for any announcements that might be happening.

What's next

2022 has been, overall, a very positive one for the team and it's absolutely true that we've ended the year with good momentum to take into 2023. It's going to be busy, with 10 big races in the first quarter of the year across IVRA, WSR and iRacing special events, but the team are looking forward to building on the foundation that we've built in the past 5 years.

The whole team would like to thank everyone who's had a part in 2022, including anyone who engages in the various broadcasts we find ourselves on; likes, comments and shares anything we do on social media and racers from the various teams we've enjoyed battles with. Special thanks to our sponsors Prestanda and Extrawurst for their support. Best wishes to everyone reading, we hope you have a great end to the year and an even better 2023!
